A little kitty in a Victorian style dress holds two tulips she's plucked from the border to take to mama.

This scene is created by painting a whole picture's worth of different elements on pieces of paper and fiberboard, much like creating a set for a play… and then setting up and arranging those pieces to create a little dimensional world for the characters to live and play. It took hundreds of hours to bring this small series of cats in the garden cards into being and I hope you'll enjoy the depth to the scenes and the slightly unusual look it lends as a world somewhere between 2 and 3 dimensions.

Cards on the scale that I sell and print them are truly more a labor of love than a good way to raise funds but I continue to make them - and spend a lot of time making them - because I love greeting cards myself — I think sending and receiving them is very important to making and maintaining real and lasting connections, and they're the most affordable way for most people to own any artist's work.
