Two Odd Ducks, a little holiday make-along book
This story was written as a companion piece to the cotton ornament make-alongs for this year. It's meant to celebrate grand ladies and the traditions of making things by hand (for holidays and for any time of year) and sharing stories and also love for animals like ducks and hens and birds and cats 🩷 because what's a story without a few animals?
I'm not sure how interesting this will be if you don't have some interest in old things, old ladies, birds, and spun cotton…. That is to say, I wrote it to go along with the videos and kits, to give the whole project a narrative.. but I didn't really intend for it to stand on its own.
But a number of you asked if it would be available on its own, and because I had to order a minimum of 100 copies to get it printed, I do have extras beyond what I expect to sell with kits, so here it is 🫠
The illustrations for this were all created on vintage envelopes saved from a grand lady I never knew, Hilda Pollman…
Thank you all for your encouragement and support, I hope there will be parts of this that resonate with you.
Books purchased between 11/22 and 11/27 will most likely ship after Thanksgiving, thanks for your patience.
